My Background
I am a middle years teacher living in rural Saskatchewan. I graduated from Brandon University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Education After Degree and got my first teaching job in a very small rural community. The 2014-2015 school year is my third at the school. I teach split grades and almost all subjects! I also spend time coaching sports and running the "WE DAY" club. I love what I do; integrating technology and differentiating for student learning are my passions.
My career keeps me very busy but in my spare time I like to be active indoors and outdoors. I enjoy going to the gym, biking, jogging, training for my next obstacle course race, hockey, golf, and playing backyard volleyball or badminton with friends. I also enjoy camping and travelling. When I am in need of a little quiet time, I like to spend time reading mystery novels, watching Netflix, and exploring social media or the ever-changing world wide web.
This e-portfolio is a major assignment for a class I am taking for my Masters Degree at the University of Saskatchewan. I am in the Educational Technology and Design program, and all of my classes are completed online. The e-portfolio will be a bit of a work in progress as I adjust my teaching practices and learn what works for me! Please feel free to take any ideas you have read on the site and make them your own - as teachers I think we are all great scavengers. I love to collaborate and share and many of the ideas you see were shared with me by colleagues, classmates, twitter followers, and even students. I hope you find the content and links useful!
